The Beggars are Renee Donaghey, Stuart Day and Quinton Dunne, their distinct Australian sound has taken them to the top of the European country music charts and onto the stages of Europe and Australia’s festivals and theatres.
Quinton and Stuart spent many years on Australia’s long highways touring the country with music and theatre shows; they returned to Adelaide, met Renee and formed The Beggars

Renee Donaghey: [vocals, guitar] born on the family farm in Esperance, Western Australia. Hard times forced her family off the land and she moved to Adelaide. She has a crystal clear voice that rings out with the sound of folk and roots music Quinton Dunne: [vocals, double bass] from the green hills of Ireland via London to the wide brown land of Australia where he has played with great artists including The Seekers. Stuart Day: [vocals, guitars, fiddle, mandolin harmonica] born in sunny Queensland and grew up in rainy Mt Gambier in the South East of South Australia, He is a highly regarded, ARIA nominated instrumentalist, composer and producer.

There is a tour in Nov/Dec 2012 that takes in 15 theatres from Cairns to the Gold Coast there is also a tour under development for May 2013 so far there are dates in Pt Macquarie and Sydney.
I heard them today (20/4/18) at Willow Grove. Superb musicianship, individually and in combination. Impeccable timing, tight performance. Fluid programme, with democratic presentation and a wholesome sense of humour.
