If you want to see The Beggars plus the wonderful multi award winning Trev Warner we are playing as a quartet at the South Australian Folk Center on South Road at Thebarton on November 20. I believe we start at 7.30pm. Trev will feature on the Fiddle and the Dobro and Stu and Renee will switch between the guitars, mandolin, fiddle, ukulele and harmonicas Quinton will stick on the double bass and we will all take a turn on the vocal. Some really good comments came back form the last concert we played at the Folk Center amongst them “Fantastic, the best show this year!!”

I am sad to report that after 19 years the Murryaylands Music Festival organizing committee have decided to call it quits. Time are pretty tough in the music and one factor outside anyones control – the weather – has not been kind for the last few years and that certainly did not help the festival go forward. It was a great little festival with a really strong community feel and The Beggars were fortunate enough to perform at all of the last 4 festivals. So thank you and RIP-Murraylands Music Festival. Thanks to Ian Fisk for the photos.
Through December we will be back in the studio to record our third album. This one will be a departure from our first two albums, we wont be writing any new songs for this one instead it will feature classic Australian songs, the working title is “Australian Songbook”. The range and quality of material we have to choose from is fantastic. We will do all the tracks at Sody Pop in Adelaide and then mix and master in Damien Gerard Studios in Sydney and hope to have it finished by early 2011 in time for a little tour [mainly in Victoria] in April and then a longer tour in Europe through May, as the tour dates are confirmed I put them up on the gigs page.
