This month “Ill Never Find Another You” from the Desert Flower album gets a limited release so it will be on iTunes only. Yes its The Beggars take on that great Tom Springfield tune that the Seekers had a massive hit with.
The Beggars have always been fans of The Seekers. When Stuart was a boy he saved his pocket money to buy his very first album I think it was a $2 investment in The Best of The Seekers and Quinton was fortunate to play bass with them one of their Australian tours in 1992.
This is the cover art and you can find the tune at

The Beggars premier performance at The South Australian folk Centre is coming up on July 17th and as our guest we have the fabulous Trev Warner. Tickets For The Folk Centre Concert – are $18/ $16/$14 and you can book through the SA Folk Centre 8354 4606.
If you don’t know Trev just let me just say he has played with some great artists and won numerous awards including two golden guitars: he is a legend! In February we preformed a series of concerts called “Bound For Australia” in six theatres around Adelaide and they were just fantastic – You can follow the link to see some video from the Star Theatre concert- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA-t5RqKXSY– You can find Ill Never Find Another You and all our other songs from the Desert Flower album at iTunes by following the link – http://itunes.apple.com/album/desert-flower/id331111703
If you are an iTunes user and have an account, you can promote The Beggars music on your countries iTunes. It’s very easy, Ill describe how in detail a bit later. You can make an iMix containing music you like and including your favorite Beggars songs. You can also write a review for our albums and give them a rating. This is all really helpful especially on iTunes platforms outside of Australia where our Australian fans don’t have accounts. Of course I would be happy to do the same for international bands on the Australian itunes platform.
How to create an iMix
Here is is as a video

An iMix is a playlist (that is, a list of songs) that you’ve chosen to publish and make available to others in the iTunes Music Store. You can only make an iMix playlist using the iTunes software.
To make a playlist, open your iTunes software and:
Click on File and then select “New Playlist”.
Under the Source bar on the left, the words “New Playlist” will appear. You then need to name your playlist. The name you give it is how it will appear in the iTunes Music Store. It could be that the songs have a theme or are a good soundtrack for an activity this could be the title of your iMix.
Add songs to your playlist. You can click and drag songs from your iTunes library into your playlist, and/or you can also drag any song (even songs you don’t own!) from the iTunes Music store into your playlist. In your iMix, place one or two Beggars songs and some songs from other artists that you like. Make as many iMixes as you like.
Click on the arrow next to the playlist to publish. When you are publishing the mix check out the “iMix Notes” field. Take a few moments to write something and describe/talk about your playlist. A great description combined with high rating increases the odds people will discover your playlist.
Reviews and ratings
Positive reviews also help introduce new people to the music. The iMix, album and reviews can all be rated.
We just assigned the bands publishing to Fogsong, Marshall Cullen and the Begz got together at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel to ink the docs. Fogsong will help promote the music in a whole range of ways and hopefully find some new homes for our tunes.
I put all the German reviews for Desert Flower through Google translate: here are a few highlights – and thanks to the reviewers!

Powerful and vivid – they compare favorably with their U.S. counterparts and are better than much of what is currently being heard in the American country charts.

Country and Folk has won a huge number of followers in Europe but only rarely do we find a small acoustic band, with a great natural country-campfire feeling like “The Beggars.” The songs ignite immediately and not just because of the wonderful, crystal clear and authentic voice of Roots style singer- Renee. For a comparison I have to think of song writing greats such as Johnny Cash or Van Morrison.

Their second album, “Desert Flower” once again finds the space between country and folk. While listening to the compact songs you immediately think of greats like GRAM PARSONS, VAN MORRISON, JOHNNY CASH, or the FAIRPORT CONVENTION. The crystal-clear voiced Renee Donghey sounds like a conglomeration of Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez and Linda Ronstadt. Quiet songs, great voices, harmonious melodies and excellent storytelling distinguish “Desert Flower. Rarely, are the songs longer than three minutes. Only the nearly six-minute phlegmatic “Carolina blows to this framework and is the highlight of” Desert Flower “.

Very nice, finally something again from Australia! The focus of the Australians is quite clearly on the songs themselves, as there are no extended solo escapades. Also noticeable is approximately two thirds of the “Desert Flower” tracks do not even reach the three minute limit despite being unpretentious you can hear clearly we are dealing here with world-class musicians, The instrument diversity and use of all kinds, acoustic stringed instruments contributes immensely to the rich tone on this disc.
At 5:41 minutes “Carolina”, a haunting, melancholy ballad, is the longest track on “Desert Flower”. And here there is a lonely desert feel; you sit tired before a crackling campfire, possessed by a paralyzing melancholy, in the great void, or the great expanse in the mind’s eye. This is in a class of its own and makes this a truly great track.
A class asset for country / folk-lovers!

“Desert Flower” 15 acoustic country and folk songs that stand out for their simplicity and a heavenly warm sound (especially the double bass). Simple, but beautiful melodies, including a few cover versions (“If I Could Only Win Your Love,” “Wildwood Flower,” “I’ll never find another you”), coupled with fine harmony vocals and an earthy and, above all handmade instrumentation – these are the simple and yet completely sufficient ingredients for an unpretentious album that is like his namesake, the desert flower, a fragile, beautiful creature in a harsh and difficult environment.
