This week we played concerts in Townsville and Mackay with Quentin Eyers filling in for Stuart Day on guitar, mandolin and vocals. Well I was a little apprehensive would Quentin be able to learn all the harmonies, words and arrangements, would he be overwhelmed when he saw the size of the stage and the spotlight hit him? I didn’t need to worry Quentin did a fantastic job the crowds loved him and the only tricky thing was getting use to touring with someone who has almost the same first name as me. Thanks to the folks in Townsville and Mackay for a great little tour of North Queensland.

About to go on stage at the Townsville Civic Theatre
This week we are presenting two different shows, SING on Tuesday morning in Sydney and The Beggars Sing The Seekers on Friday night in Dubbo. First time for The Beggars in both cites and I am hoping we get a warm welcome in Sydney which is my old stomping ground and Dubbo which I visited a few times when I was on the school touring circuit.
There has been a date change to our SING! tour of Victoria with April 18th at the Thornbury Theatre cancelled. Our only Melbourne concert is now on Sunday 19th. The full list of current tour dates and links is below:

All the hits are here. “I’ll Never Find Another You”, “The Carnival is Over”, “Morningtown Ride” and, of course, “Georgie Girl”, they are all are faithfully re-produced, along with Beggar’s originals and rollicking standards such as “Open Up Them Pearly Gates” and “Sinner Man”. The Beggars Sing The Seekers is a musical homage to The Seekers. From their early days in the Melbourne cafe scene in 1962 to London, the swinging centre of the pop universe, The Seekers were on a rollercoaster of hits! Their 1968 BBC TV breakup special Farewell The Seekers was watched by millions and after a stellar 50 year career they are still as popular as ever. Presented in wonderful harmony by internationally acclaimed Adelaide folk sensation The Beggars.
